Handset keypad makers Ichia and Silitech both report record sales in October

Taiwan handset component makers had mixed revenues in October, with two keypad makers – Ichia Technologies and Silitech Technology – both reporting record sales while Merry Electronics suffered a slight setback in sales.

Himax targets china white-box handst market with mobile LCOS projectors

Taiwan-based OpenMoko launches Android-based handset

Samsung takes top spot in US mobile handset market for first time

According to the latest research from Strategy Analytics, mobile handset shipments in the United States defied the economic gloom and grew 6% annually, to reach 47 million units during the third quarter of 2008.
