LG Announces KM560 and LG KP330 the First 3G Global Roaming Cell Phones

LG Electronics, the world’s fifth handset manufacturer, revealed two new handsets, LG KM560 and LG KP330, that support all three WCDMA bands and GSM bands. These models were selected by the GSM Association to spearhead Horizon Phone initiative.

This initiative aims to provide a range of multi-band phones with HSPA support to meet the needs of consumers all over the world.

With the support for all three WCDMA bands (850 / 1900 / 2100 MHz) and the conventional GSM bands, LG KM560 and LG KP330 are the first 3G phones able to automatically roam in 220 countries. Committee of experts, selected this handsets for support nine leading mobile operators including AT&T, Telefonica Movile, Telstra, Telenor, Cable & Wireless International, Rogers Wireless and Entel PCS.

There aren’t many info about phone specs, just that they will be available via six operators in the second half of 2008. After that LG will introduce them all over the globe. There is no word on prices but both devices should be quite affordable.
