Microsoft said it’s buying Danger Inc., a software provider for cellular phone handsets, for an undisclosed price.
Danger is a Palo Alto, Calif.-based maker of software that allows users to use web browsing, instant messaging, games, social networking, web e-mail and multimedia on their handsets.
The Redmond computer giant said it will incorporate Danger into its entertainment and devices division.
“The addition of Danger serves as a perfect complement to our existing software and services, and also strengthens our dedication to improving mobile experiences centered around individuals and what they like,” said Robbie Bach, president of Microsoft’s entertainment and devices division, in a statement.
